JACK DALE - STATEMENTMy goal, as a painter, has always been to create a painting that generates a reaction from the viewer. I have been an artist for over 35 years and continue to find color and texture the basis for my work. I don't try to influence or predispose the viewer with obvious images, i.e. landmarks, etc. Everyone approaches situations with their own breadth of experience and that should be the foundation for relating to my paintings both intellectually and emotionally. I hope that my paintings are remembered more for what they evoke than for what they represent. Jack Dale paints primarily with oil on a variety of surfaces. He went to college on a hockey scholarship and played on the 1968 U.S. Olympic Team and three years as a professional before an injury ended his career. The good fortune was that he turned to his art and has been painting ever since.
