GUILLERMO FIGOLI - STATEMENT
The works of this series are made with papers of daily use, like receipts and advertising material that we obtain every day and usually discard.
These elements, after accomplishing their original function, were transformed into art. Within the work they fulfill a new roll, occupy another place; they dramatize situations and they come to life. These elements generate and belong to a new esthetic concept that gives the depth necessary for the spectator’s reflection.
There’s life inside!, it’s a call to attention; to be conscious of the things that are detached from us, which we sometimes let pass without even knowing, what we had in our hands.
